Weatherby Foundation Donates $5,000 to West Virginia 's

Celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Days

The Weatherby Foundation has donated $5,000 to West Virginia 's Celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Days, according to Frank Jezioro , Director of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources. “The Foundation's objective is to educate the non-hunting public on the beneficial role of ethical sport hunting and its contributions to wildlife conservation. This is the second year we have received grant monies and it is greatly appreciated.”

“Our goal at the Celebration, as well as many other events held around the state, is to provide hands-on learning opportunities for youngsters and families in the areas of wildlife and habitat conservation; the role of hunting and the hunter in wildlife conservation; and shooting sports, fishing, camping, water sports, and many other skills necessary to responsibly enjoy our great outdoors. It takes the generosity of organizations such as the Weatherby Foundation to accomplish our goals,” Jezioro said.

The 2006 Celebration will be held September 23 rd and 24 th at Stonewall Jackson Lake Resort State Park. For more information on the Celebration and scheduled activities look on the DNR Web site at under Special Opportunities: National Hunting and Fishing Days Celebration.
