“April Showers” Promotion Adds $10 for Each $100 WV State Parks Gift Card Purchase

            West Virginia State Park gift cards are very popular for graduation, Mother’s and Father’s Day, birthdays and anniversaries, holidays, and for corporate incentive or employee reward programs. If purchased online or by telephone during the month of April, they’re an even better bargain. 

            “Gift card popularity may grow even more because of this ‘April Showers’ promotion,” said Doug Baker, Business Manager for West Virginia State Parks. “Orders received from April 1 through April 30 will have added value placed on state park gift cards,” says Baker.

            If purchased online or by telephone during the month of April, West Virginia State Park gift cards will be increased by 10 dollars for every 100 dollars purchased.  “It may not seem like a lot of money, but anyone using gift cards to pay for a special event or a golf package, to enjoy a fine meal at a restaurant on Mother’s Day, or even if planning a fall or winter getaway, will find the extra 10 dollars on the hundred will enhance their state parks experience. Also, any money left remains on the card for later use since there is no expiration on West Virginia State Parks gift cards,” says Baker. State park gift cards are accepted at all state parks and forests for lodge room and cabin rentals, restaurant, golf play, wobble clay range at Cacapon, spa treatments at Berkeley Springs, gift shops and camping.

            Visitors and guests are attracted to state parks for the discounted packages, special events and activities that are affordable. “We encourage travel to parks and forests. By adding extra value we hope people will purchase cards this month for future visits to parks,” Baker said.

            The April Showers gift card promotion only applies to WV State Park gift cards purchased online at www.wvstateparks.com or by phoning (304) 558-2764 from April 1 through April 30, 2008.  Individual parks and forests can not process the added growth to the card value and the April Showers promotion does not apply to previous card purchases or redemptions.
