Rick K History Based in Morgantown, Rick K formed the group in 1990, performing at local weddings, corporate events and clubs. Rick’s background in music grew from family ties. His grandmother as an accomplished gospel and jazz pianist and his father played drums for several successful recording groups in the late fifties and early sixties. As a teenager, he played drums and sang in local country and rock ‘n’ roll bands. With All-State Choir honors and various music awards in high school, at age 20 he was fronting his own band: Rick K & the Allnighters. The group now performs literally from coast to coast. Recent performances include the NBA finals, NFL pre-game shows, Las Vegas, and various state fairs to mention a few. The band’s latest CD release, titled “Made in the USA,” is a greatest hits compilation of their first three records featuring selections of their most requested songs. Members include: Rick on lead vocals, Bill Stockwell on bass guitar/vocals, Steve Moore on drums/vocals, and Bob Lightner on lead guitar/vocals. In addition to headlining performances across the country, the group has appeared with many of music’s legendary names such as Chubby Checker, The Temptations, Percy Sledge, Martha & the Vandellas, as well as country music stars, George Jones, Toby Keith and Cledus T. Judd. Rick K and the Allnighters is a band that is deeply committed to community involvement wherever they travel. As a group, they are strong advocates against the danger of drugs and alcohol and raise funds for such groups as American Cancer Society and numerous law enforcement agencies. |
