Cannonball! Food splash at Pipestem Resort State Park Snack bar returns after seven years

PIPESTEM, W.Va. – The snack bar at Pipestem Resort State Park’s Recreation Center will reopen Memorial Day weekend with a new name – “Cannonball” – after being closed for the past seven years.

“The re-establishment of this service at the state park is part of a revitalization plan at the Recreation Center,” said Dave Caplinger, park superintendent.

When Cannonball opens it will feature pizza, “Cannon-dogs,” nachos and lunch-style foods. This snack bar will give Pipestem five food service options. The other eateries are Bluestone Dining and Canyon Rim Café, both located at McKeever Lodge (main lodge), Mulligans at the golf pro shop complex, and Mountain Creek (gourmet dining access by aerial tramway) at Mountain Creek Lodge.

The Recreation Center area features an outdoor swimming pool, Short Course (the Par-3 golf course), and miniature golf course. This year it also will include a disc golf course and tennis courts. Mid-summer will yield a remote-controlled car race track that is under construction at the old ice rink area.
