Beech Fork State Park Keeping Visitors Active June 27 – July 1, 2012
With outdoor activities from nature hikes and insect hunts to cornhole and horseshoe pitching, guests of and visitors to Beech Fork State Park will find many things to do June 27 - July 1. These featured activities are in addition, of course, to camping, fishing, boating, visiting with family and friends and all the other activities normally available at Beech Fork.
Nature hikes and activities planned by the summer naturalist are open to the public without cost. The naturalist at Beech Fork State Park is Lauren Carte. Carte is a student at Marshall University.

1 p.m. Trees of Beech Fork - Join the naturalist for a walk on the Fitness Trail to learn how to identify some of the many trees Beech Fork State Park has to offer. (About 30 min.)

11 a.m. Morning Fitness Walk - Meet the naturalist on the Fitness Trail for an early morning stroll. Get some great exercise on this one-mile paved walk while appreciating the nature that surrounds us. (About 30 min.)

12 p.m. Patriotic Scavenger Hunt - Come on out and celebrate our country with a patriotic scavenger hunt. Grab a team and meet the naturalist outside the Campers Corner Store to start the challenge. (About 30 min.)
