See Birds of Prey at West Virginia State Parks this summer

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Wings of Wonder – Birds of Prey program by the Three River Avian Center (TRAC) continues to attract visitors to West Virginia’s state parks and forests.  “Birds of prey such as owls, hawks and eagles are creatures you commonly see in the sky soaring, but rarely up close,” said Luke Stevens, summer naturalist at Pipestem Resort State Park.  “The Three Rivers Avian Center provides an educational aspect and the opportunity to see the raptors up close.”

Three Rivers Avian Center programs are free of charge to attend. The program lasts about one hour and includes a question and answer session and discussion.

The TRAC schedule for the remainder of the 2012 summer season at state parks and forests includes:

  • July 20, Pipestem Resort amphitheater at 7 p.m.
  • July 21, Watoga State Park, 3 p.m.
  • July 27, Bluestone State Park, 3 p.m.
