Blue skies, cold temperatures - MLK weekend promises excellent skiing and tubing at Canaan Valley Resort State Park

DAVIS, W.Va. – A chilly 17 degrees greets the beginning of Martin Luther King Weekend at Canaan Valley Resort. Snowmaking has resumed on the slopes and tube area.

“It’s nature’s invitation to travel to Tucker county this holiday weekend,” said Lenore Testerman of Canaan Valley Resort. “With colder temperatures and increased snow making, it should be an awesome ski and tubing weekend.”

Canaan Valley has 42 slopes with 13 currently open. That number will increase as winter temperatures continue to hold snow. The new tube park features eight lanes that are 1,200 feet in length. Tube sessions begin at 9 a.m. and last two hours. There are extended hours on weekends and holidays at the tube park and on the slopes.

Testerman distributes Canaan Resort’s “Ski Mail” and electronic newsletter. To receive electronic updates or to learn more about snow conditions and winter recreation at Canaan Valley, visit www.canaanresort.com or call 304-866-4121.
