Sweetheart Weekend Dance Party Planned at Twin Falls State Park, February 8-10

Mullens, W.Va. – It takes two to tango, but at Twin Falls State Park, Sweetheart Weekend February 10-12  includes a four-hour dance party, dinner reservations for two, a “Blinded by Love” auction, the coronation of a Valentine Queen and King, and general good fun.

“Twin Falls staff enjoy planning special weekends that include a dance, and Sweetheart Weekend is one of the best,” said Bryan Danford, activities coordinator. “We have almost as much fun as our guests, sometimes even more. We take a lot of pride in our planned activities.”

Sweetheart Weekend at Twin Falls is the weekend prior to Valentine’s Day. Friday, February 8, includes a mixer in the Azalea Room. Guests will learn how to and begin earning “sweet cash” that can be used at the auction scheduled for Saturday evening. A romantic movie is scheduled in the Monarch lobby.

Saturday, February 9, Park Superintendent Scott Durham will be the trail host for the Nature Walk on the Falls Trail beginning at 10:30 a.m. Dinner reservations are to be made at the front desk for seatings from 5:30 until 7 p.m. A “Blinded by Love” auction gets underway at 8 p.m. using the “sweet cash” earned during the weekend stay.  Guests have the opportunity to interact with park staff or participate in planned activities to earn auction money.  The Sweetheart Dance starts at 9:30 p.m. with music by DJ Will Shumate. A Queen and King coronation is planned during the dance that concludes at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 10.

The weekend package rate of $256 includes two nights at Twin Falls lodge, dinner and dance for two, all the activities, prizes, hors d'oeuvres and complimentary sweetheart champagne glass, sales taxes and meal gratuities. A two-bedroom cabin for two nights with Sweetheart activities, dance and dinner is $281. Other packages are available.

Twin Falls State Park, which is open year round, is located in Wyoming County near Pineville and Mullens, about three miles off Route 97 in Saulsville. The park has a 47-room lodge with indoor pool and fitness center, 14 vacation cabins, a 50-site campground, an 18-hole golf course, multiple hiking and biking trails, and the Pioneer Farm and the two falls.
