Encore Presentation of Privy Evolution, Saturday, July 20, 1 p.m. Blennerhassett Museum, Parkersburg
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. - Presentation number two of “History of Bathrooms…From Ancient Times to the 21st Century” will be presented by Dr. Ray Swick, West Virginia State Parks historian, on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 1 p.m. Dr. Swick made his first presentation April 20.
The talk is being held in conjunction with a popular exhibit now on display at the Blennerhassett Island Museum of Regional History: “Behind Closed Doors – American Bathrooms Through the Ages,” on display through December 2013. The exhibit collection features artifacts dating back to the 18th century.
General admission to the museum is $4 for adults and $2 for children (ages 3-12) and includes a tour of the exhibit following the program and access to other areas of the museum and gift shop.
The Blennerhassett Museum is a year-round facility that features three floors of exhibits and covers pre-history to 20th century relics. The museum, located on the corner of 2nd street and Juliana Street in downtown Parkersburg, is open Tuesday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m.to 5 p.m.
