Snow Tubing, Skiing and more at Canaan Valley Resort this Holiday Season

            DAVIS, W.Va. – The tubing park at Canaan Valley Resort attracts all ages to enjoy winter recreation. The 1,200-foot, eight lane recreational area is open daily and offers special night tubing Dec. 26 – 31 for holiday recreation. Special evening tubing sessions are from 4:30- 6:30 and 7-9 p.m. Tubing session are two hours long. There are three two-hour sessions daily: 9-11 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. Tubing is a family friendly, any-age activity; however, individuals must be four years old or older and 42 inches in height or taller.

            The recent opening of the new 160 room lodge, plus renovations at the ski area, including the beginners ski school area (complete with magic carpet lift), create additional winter recreational interest. Downhill skiing at Canaan features up to 43 slopes. Ski lift hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 20-25 and 9 a.m-8 p.m. Dec. 26-31.

            Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit Canaan Valley Christmas Eve at 7 p.m. Holiday Buffets are offered in the Hickory Room Dec. 24 and 25. Overnight stay packages for Christmas and New Year ’s Eve are available. Daily ski report and slope conditions are posted on www.wvstateparks.com under Special Notices.
