Power Disruption at Tomlinson Run State Park Campground

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. - A power disruption has occurred in the campground at Tomlinson Run State Park near New Manchester in Hancock County, according to Park Superintendent Sam Morris. Electrical service to all other facilities at the park is not affected.

"A recent power surge has left the entire campground without electricity,'" Morris said. "Our engineering section from the central office is evaluating the problem and we hope to resolve the situation soon."
Tomlinson Run campground is open, but with limited services offered.

"As compensation, campers will pay a special $15 per night rate, which will be in effect until power is restored," Morris said. The normal rate for campsites with electricity is $24 per night.

The 54-site campground at Tomlinson Run features a convenience store, dump station, two bathhouses, hot showers and laundry facilities. All sites are suitable for tent or trailer and feature picnic tables and grills, while 39 sites feature electric hookups. The campground opened April 1 and remains in operation through Oct. 31.
Tomlinson Run State Park in West Virginia's Northern Panhandle offers lake fishing, swimming and a water slide, canoeing and kayaking and hiking trails. Disc golf and camping attract vacationers who enjoy outdoor settings with the comforts of a tent, yurt, camper cabin or recreational vehicle.
