Maurice Ulmer Group performs at Pipestem Amphitheater June 14

PIPESTEM, West Virginia – The Maurice Ulmer Group will be the next performers for the 2014 Pipestem Resort State Park Summer Amphitheater Series June 14. This group has been performing its brand of classic rock and roll, blues and rockabilly in the two Virginias for many years. They also will play original music composed by Maurice Ulmer, an American Society of Composers Award Winner in 2010 for his CD "Rock of the Alleghenies."

Band members include Ulmer on guitar, bass and vocals; Cathy Lowry on keyboards, flute, recorder, bass and vocals; Steve Herald on drums; and Jimmy McCutchen on guitar, bass and vocals. Members of the band live in Covington and Clifton Forge, Virginia.

Amphitheater shows at Pipestem Resort State Park begin at 8 p.m. The show admission is adults $6, youth ages 6-12 $4, children 5 and younger, free.

New this year at Pipestem is a Summer Amphitheater pass. The $54 pass is for entry to all shows and allows the pass holder to bring a friend, child or spouse for free.

Amphitheater Show general guidelines

  • All shows, unless otherwise stated, begin at 8 p.m. and end at approximately 10 p.m.
  • The amphitheater has 525 seats. Attendees may bring blankets for hillside seating.
  • No alcohol allowed.
  • All shows are litter free.
  •  A refreshment concession stand is on-site.
  • You do not need to be an overnight guest at Pipestem Resort to attend shows.
  • Shows are open to the public. Some have an admission fee and many are free.
