Halloween events at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park, Oct. 31, 2015

CASS, West Virginia – The annual Halloween Train departs from the Cass Depot to Whittaker Station at 6 p.m. Oct. 31, 2015, at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park in Pocahontas County.

"It is one of the most favorite special train rides at Cass," said Scott Fortney, park superintendent. "Riders typically come in costume and everyone has a great time."

Tickets for the Halloween Train are sold by Mountain Rail and are available online at www.mountainrail.com or by calling 866-714-0012.

The Town of Cass also has some Halloween Fun planned for Oct. 31. A costume contest at 3 p.m. in the Cass Community Center is open to the public. Prizes are awarded for costumes and treats are provided to all youth attending. To register for the costume contest, contact Monica Fleming at cassrailroadsp@wv.gov or call 304-456-4300. Walk-ins also are welcomed. There is not charge for this contest.

A Haunted Company House is new this year at Cass. Tours start from the Community Center at 7 p.m. and conclude at 10 p.m. Two dollars per person or a donation of two cans of nonperishable food covers the entrance. Food donations are given to a local food bank. Blue Roof Caterers will have refreshments for sale from 6:30 to 10 p.m.
