Charge your electric car at Twin Falls Resort State beginning Jan. 20, 2017 Opening ceremony at 11 a.m.

MULLENS, W.Va. – Beginning Jan. 20, you can charge your Tesla and other electric or hybrid vehicles at Twin Falls Resort State Park near Mullens. An opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will be held at 11 a.m., and the public is invited. A Tesla will be onsite to demonstrate how an electric vehicle (EV) charging station works. The charging station is located at the upper parking area at the park lodge.

A special January room rate promotion, WV50, is available for attendees staying overnight. WV50 is a $50 room rate available any night in January on standard rooms. Twin Falls Restaurant Inc. will feature a “charge-up lunch special” for all visitors and guests immediately after the ribbon cutting.

"We anticipate that these electric car charging stations will attract more visitors, now that they can be assured of being able to charge their electric vehicles when they visit us," said Twin Falls Resort State Park Supt. Scott Durham.

Twin Falls is the third West Virginia state park to introduce this service, following Pipestem and Cacapon. Other state park lodges will have charging stations installed soon. Funding for this project came in part from a grant from the West Virginia Division of Energy to the Division of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation section.

There is no charge to use the station and it is available to any guest with an electric vehicle. However, only plug-in hybrids and EVs are allowed to park at the EV charging spots and only while charging. EVlink charging stations are suitable for daily use and compatible with most electric vehicles. It is a Schneider Electric 30-amp Level 2 dual pedestal charging station.

Twin Falls Resort State Park is open year-round and is located off Route 97 near Mullens and Pineville in Wyoming County. Learn more at www.twinfallsresort.com.
