South Mill Creek Lake is a 48-acre lake located 7.7 miles south of Dorcas in Grant County and is accessible from WV Rt. 9. The lake was built in 1994 with a maximum depth of 35 feet and an average depth of 17.5 feet.

Description |
A 24-foot wide concrete boat ramp, a wheelchair accessible wooden fishing pier with a paved access path, 12 paved parking spaces (3 for handicapped), and 64 gravel parking spaces are available. Two 50-foot long earthen levees near the boat ramp and a gravel shoreline path around the lake provide bank fishing opportunities. Permanent toilets as well as picnic tables are also present.

Fishery |
South Mill Creek Lake produces excellent largemouth bass and channel catfish angling and a fair crappie fishery. All black bass from 12 to 16 inches long must be returned to the water at once. Trophy citation channel catfish were first reported in 1999 and continue to be caught. The lake receives bi-weekly trout stockings from March through May.
