Upper Cove Run Lake is a 6.5-acre impoundment located Three miles south east of Mathias in Hardy County. It is accessible from WV 20/3.

Description |
The lake was constructed in 1999 with a maximum depth of 20 feet and an average depth of 8 feet.

Fishery |
Upper Cove Run Lake was stocked with fingerling largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish in 2000. There is no standing timber on this small lake. There are presently no facilities, although the Natural Resource Conservation Service plans to provide a gravel parking area, gravel boat ramp, and improve the road access off WV Route 20/3.
