Kimsey Run Lake is a 60-acre impoundment located adjacent to County Route 14, one mile off U.S. Route 259 at Lost River, in Hardy County.

Description |
The lake was built in the 1990’s with a maximum depth of 26 feet and an average depth of 10 feet. No camping is allowed and the only facility is a portable toilet provided during the trout stocking season March through May. A concrete boat ramp is available, although electric motors only are allowed. The use of live minnows for bait is prohibited. A rock levee extends over 400-feet into the lake and provides an excellent location for bank anglers.

Fishery |
Kimsey Run Lake was stocked with fingerling largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish in 1998 and a stocking of adult crappie was made in 1999. Stockings of fingerling tiger musky were made in 1999, 2000, and 2001, as well as a stocking of 9-11" (58) fish in 2002. Another stocking of fingerling catfish was also made in 2000 and bi-weekly stockings of trout began in 1999. Several acres of standing timber remain in the upper lake and it provide a diverse fishing opportunity. A no bass harvest regulation is in effect at this lake.
