Directions |
Dog Run Lake is a 22-acre impoundment located 12 miles west of Clarksburg in Harrison County. It is accessible from Clarksburg by U. S. Route 50 west to the Dog Run exit, then northwest 0.5 miles.

Description |
The lake was built in 1970 with a maximum depth of 42 feet and an average depth of 17 feet. A gravel boat ramp, toilets and picnic area are available. Camping, swimming, night fishing and hunting are prohibited. Electric motors only are allowed. A path around two-thirds of the lake provides bank fishing access.

Fishery |
Dog Run Lake provides a good fishery for trout during the spring months. Trout are stocked monthly February through May. The warmwater fishery consists of largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, northern pike, and channel catfish. Several lunker largemouth bass are caught during the period from March through May on spinner baits and jigs.
