Anderson Lake

  Lake  Anderson Lake

  Directions  Anderson Lake is a 7-acre lake located on the City of Dunbar’s Wine Cellar Park in Kanawha County, 5 miles west of Charleston and 8 miles east of Nitro. It is accessible via WV Route 25 and County Route 25/5. 

  Description  The City of Dunbar constructed the lake in 1984 with a maximum depth of 33 feet and an average depth of 18 feet. Parking is 0.5 miles from the lake with a paved walking trail provided. Paths surrounding the lake provide good bank fishing access. Pit type toilets, shelters, and picnic tables are available. Boating, camping, and the use of live minnows as bait are prohibited. 

  Fishery  Anderson Lake provides winter and spring fishing for stocked trout and a warmwater fishery for largemouth bass, channel catfish and bluegill. Trout are stocked in January and March each year. 

  National Forest  National Forest Stamp is not required 

  Boating  No boating allowed 

  Camping  No camping allowed 

  Spring Trout  Stocked once in January and once in March 

  Fall Trout  Does not receive Fall trout stocking 

  Live Minnows  Live minnows may not be used as bait 

  Night Fishing  Night fishing is allowed
