Kanawha State Forest Pond is a 1-acre impoundment located on Kanawha State Forest (9,210 acres) in Kanawha County, 11 miles south of Charleston and 5 miles southwest of Marmet. It is accessible from Charleston by County Route 23 and from Marmet via WV Route 119 and County Route 44.

Description |
The lake was built in 1938 with a maximum depth of 8 feet and an average depth of 5 feet. A trail surrounding a large portion of the lake provides bank fishing access. Boating and the use of live minnows as bait is prohibited. Forty-six tent or trailer camping sites, picnic facilities, drinking water, swimming pool, hiking trails, flush toilets, showers, and a playground are available. Camping is available April 15 to October 31 and the swimming pool is open Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Fishery |
Kanawha State Forest Pond provides spring fishing for stocked trout to Children and Class Q License holders. This pond provides a limited warmwater fishery for sunfish, largemouth bass, and channel catfish. The general public is permitted to fish for trout after May 31.
