Big Run Lake is a 7-acre impoundment located 7 miles northwest of Mannington in Marion County. It is accessible from Mannington by U. S. Route 250 and County Route 250/4.

Description |
The lake was constructed in1975 with a maximum depth of 23 feet and an average depth of 9 feet. A gravel access road extends to the upper end of the lake from Route 250/4, which is suitable for car-top boats. Electric motors only and use of live minnows as bait are permitted. A path around two-thirds of the lake provides bank fishing access. Swimming and camping are prohibited.

Fishery |
Big Run Lake is stocked with trout once during April. The warmwater fishery consists of sunfish, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and northern pike. Largemouth bass fishing is best April through June and October through November. Surface plugs and rubber worms are the best lures.
