James P. Bailey Lake

  Lake  James P. Bailey Lake

  Directions  James P. Bailey Reservoir is a 28-acre impoundment in Mercer County located near the Mercer Mall. To reach the lake take U. S. Route 460 from Princeton or Bluefield to County Route 25/3. 

  Description  The lake was built in 1964. A trail surrounding the entire lake provides bank fishing access. Boating, night fishing, the use of live minnows as bait, over night camping, and swimming are not allowed. 

  Fishery  This lake provides a warmwater fishery for largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish. Trout are stocked in January and March each year. 

  National Forest  National Forest Stamp is not required 

  Boating  No boating allowed 

  Camping  No camping allowed 

  Spring Trout  Stocked once in January and once in March 

  Fall Trout  Does not receive Fall trout stocking 

  Live Minnows  Live minnows may not be used as bait 

  Night Fishing  Night fishing is not allowed
