Directions |
Buffalo Fork Lake is a 22-acre impoundment located in the Monongahela National Forest in Pocahontas County. The lake is 5 miles east of Bartow and can be reached by traveling WV Route 28 and Forest Service Route 54.

Description |
The lake was constructed in 1969 with a maximum depth of 28 feet and an average depth of 15 feet. A trail around the lake provides bank fishing access. The lake is accessible for carry down boats and electric motors only are allowed. Swimming and the use of live minnows for bait are prohibited. Picnic facilities, pit-toilets and drinking water facilities are available.

Fishery |
Buffalo Fork Lake is stocked with trout once in February, bi-weekly March through May, and twice in October. Some trout remain in the lake the entire year. The lake also provides a limited warmwater fishery for smallmouth bass, bluegill, green sunfish, and channel catfish.
