Hurricane Lake is a 12-acre impoundment located in Putnam County in Hurricane Community Park 1.5 miles east of Hurricane which accessible by County Route 34.

Description |
The lake was built in 1947 with a maximum depth of 11 feet and an average depth of 5 feet. A trail surrounding the entire lake provides bank fishing access. Boating and the use of live minnows as bait are prohibited. Picnic facilities, drinking water, ball fields, toilets, playground, tennis courts, and basketball courts are available.

Fishery |
Hurricane Lake provides spring and winter fishing for stocked trout, with a warmwater fishery for sunfish, largemouth bass, and channel catfish. Trout are stocked in January and March each year. Trout fishing is usually best near the dam in deeper water and at the mouths of the two main tributaries.
