Stephens Lake is a 300-acre impoundment located 9 miles west of Beckley and 3 miles east of Glen Daniel in Raleigh County. It is accessible from both Beckley and Glen Daniel by WV Route 3 via County Route 3/28.

Description |
The lake was built in 1963 with a maximum depth of 70 feet and an average depth of 25 feet. A paved road with ample parking parallels the lower portion of the lake and the remainder of the shoreline is accessible by a gravel road. Lake facilities include a marina, concrete boat ramp, and concessions. A large campground is available. The main body of the lake has an unlimited boating zone while the upper end has a 5 mph speed limitation and is for fishing only. A permit is required to night fish.

Fishery |
Stephens Lake provides a warmwater fishery for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, tiger musky, walleye, and channel catfish. The lake contains one of the best tiger musky fisheries in the state. Trophy size largemouth bass and channel catfish are frequently taken in the early spring.
