French Creek Pond is a 2-acre lake located in Upshur County, 11 miles south of Buckhannon on WV Route 20. This impoundment is part of the 329-acre West Virginia State Wildlife Center.

Description |
The pond was built in the late 1920’s with a maximum depth of 8 feet and an average depth of 4 feet. Camping, night fishing, the use of live minnows for bait, and boats are prohibited. Picnic facilities are available.

Fishery |
French Creek Pond is stocked with trout once February and bi-weekly March through May. Bluegill, green sunfish, largemouth bass, and channel catfish provide fair fishing through the summer months.
