Wild Wonderful Women’s Outdoor Event

The West Virginia Women in the Outdoors Event at Kanawha State Forest is co-sponsored by the WV Division of Natural Resources (WV DNR) and the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF). Women make up half the population in WV, but make up a much smaller number percentage of those who enjoy outdoor activities. The Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program sponsored by the WV DNR and the Women In The Outdoors program sponsored by the NWTF have teamed up to host an outdoor field day event for women.

The WV Women in the Outdoors Event at Kanawha State Forest has been cancelled for this year. Women will have the opportunity to participate in four 90 minute classes throughout the day. Classes include archery, birding, shooting, fishing, hiking, fly tying, self defense, biking, crafts and outdoor cooking. If you’ve ever wanted to learn an outdoor skill, but unsure of the equipment needed or what’s all involved, this field day is a wonderful opportunity to explore these areas. Volunteer instructors will be on hand to provide hands-on training throughout the day.
