Fishery |
Plum Orchard Lake provides an excellent warmwater fishery for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish. It is one of the top producers of trophy size largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish in the state. Large bluegill are abundant and can be caught easily on worms and small spinners. Fishing for channel catfish has been excellent after dark using natural baits. Largemouth bass are taken as early as the end of March on spinners, deep-running lures, and worms. The lake often remains clear when most impoundments in the state are muddy.
