Cacapon Lake

  Lake  Cacapon Lake

  Directions  Cacapon Park Lake is a 6-acre impoundment located in Cacapon State Park in Morgan County, just off U. S. Route 522, 9 miles south of Berkeley Springs. 

  Description  The use of private rowboats is allowed without a fee before May 30. However, from this date to Labor Day, private rowboats are assessed the same fee required to use rowboats rented by the park. Swimming beach and picnic areas are located at the lake. A wheelchair accessible fishing pier is also present. 

  Fishery  Cacapon Park Lake is stocked with trout. The lake also provides angling for crappie, sunfish, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Trout are occasionally caught throughout the summer. In addition, fingerling channel catfish are usually stocked each fall. 

  National Forest  National Forest Stamp is not required 

  Boating  No motor boats allowed, fee charged for private boats from May 30 to Labor Day 

  Camping  No camping allowed 

  Spring Trout  Stocked once in January, twice in February, and weekly March through May 

  Fall Trout  Does not receive Fall trout stocking 

  Live Minnows  Live minnows may not be used as bait 

  Night Fishing  Night fishing is allowed
