Hunting and Fishing License
The Division of Natural Resources offers several lifetime licenses. Resident lifetime hunting, trapping and fishing licenses serve in lieu of the equivalent annual license. Each license is printed on a credit-card size, plastic card stock. License buyers (except those buying the Senior Lifetime License – see below) have a choice of five background images. Those images include a white-tailed deer, a wild turkey, a black bear, a brook trout and a smallmouth bass. Lifetime license holders with the old paper license may upgrade to the new license for a $6 fee. Current license holders wishing to upgrade should contact the DNR License Unit at (304) 558-2758 or email wvdnrcustomerservice@wv.gov. Application: West Virginia Division of Natural Resources Permanent Resident License Application Senior Lifetime License Resident hunters, trappers and anglers who turn 65 on or after January 1, 2012 are required to buy a Senior Lifetime License (Class XS). The license is printed on credit-card size, plastic card stock and includes an image of a brook trout and black bear.
