Stonewall Resort announces new executive chef and enhanced dining properties

ROANOKE, W.Va. — Nevil Barr has been named executive chef at Stonewall Resort near Weston in Lewis County. The resort also is announcing enhancements to TJ Muskies, Stillwaters and Lightburns that will improve guests’ dining experience.

“Chef Barr’s promotion to executive chef is a testament to his passion for food, dedication to his culinary team and tireless work ethic,” said Jason Jonilonis, director of food and beverage at Stonewall Resort. “His drive to exceed guest expectations make him the perfect candidate to lead our award-winning culinary program.”

Barr came to Stonewall Resort in 2016, starting as sous chef and quickly rising to chef de cuisine. Before joining Stonewall, Barr trained under some of the best chefs in the country, like Chef Michael Mina and Chef Adam Sobel at Bourbon Steak at Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Jonilonis said the resort’s culinary program continues to evolve and guests will appreciate recent changes and enhancements.

Ligthburn’s Restaurant, situated atop the highest point of the resort’s 2,000-acre property and offering 270-degree views, now features a robust al a carte menu featuring smokehouse menu options and local favorites paired with a wide variety of handcrafted cocktails.

TJ Muskies Bar & Grill is the new name for the remodeled TJ Muskies Lounge. The updated space features new flooring, wall treatments, furniture and seven big-screen televisions. The new concept features a gastropub menu and an expanded tap selection, to include a new Stonewall Resort signature craft beer to debut in early summer.

Stillwaters Restaurant guests can dine al fresco on the lakeside patio for a more casual or romantic dining option. Additionally, a new boardwalk has been completed offering guests a great lakeside pathway just outside the restaurant.
