East River Mountain Town Band Christmas Concert Sunday, Dec. 2, at Pipestem Resort State Park

PIPESTEM, W.Va. — The East River Mountain Town Band will perform an afternoon of holiday music at Pipestem Resort State Park on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. The free two-hour concert includes an intermission and will be held in the Hudkins Conference Center at McKeever Lodge.

“If you enjoy live music, breathtaking views and holiday decorations, then you don’t want to miss this event,” said Pipestem activities coordinator Kim Hawkins. “It’s sure to be a good time for all.”

The Town Band has 45 members from Bluefield, West Virginia, and its surrounding area. The band performs at Pipestem each year during the holiday season as well as Memorial Day weekend.

Also planned for Sunday, Dec. 2, is an “Intro to Hiking and Survival” workshop with Jessie Conner, starting at 11 a.m. in the lobby of McKeever Lodge. Participants will learn about hiking safety, Leave No Trace and survival skills.

Pipestem’s Bluestone Dining Room is open and features a Sunday buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as evening dining. Pipestem’s Nature Center is open Friday and Saturday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For more information about Pipestem Resort State Park, activities and lodging, visit www.wvstateparks.com.
